WHO WE ARE

ABOUT THE SEAN HANNA FOUNDATION

The Sean Hanna Foundation for Pediatric Cancer

HELP. HOPE. HEAL.

Each year, the parents of approximately 15,800 kids will hear the words “your child has cancer”, and 2000 will not survive. 60% of children who survive cancer into their adulthood suffer late-effects such as heart failure, secondary cancers, or infertility. We aim to ease the burdens of patients and families suffering from childhood cancers  in honor of the life of the Foundation’s namesake, Sean Hanna, and the thousands of other young people who fight and have fought cancer.

The Sean Hanna Foundation is a public charity registered in New Jersey, exempt from federal income tax and can receive tax deductible donations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

OUR MISSION

The Sean Hanna Foundation organizes and provides a comprehensive support network to families battling cancer. Provided support services range from social workers to accountants, and undergraduate scholarships to patients who, like Sean, live their lives to the fullest despite dealing with a serious chronic illness. In the tragic event that a child does pass away from cancer or its complications, the foundation provides bereavement funds and further assistance.

OUR VISION

We intend to expand both the depth and range of support we provide families. We will continue to foster our relationship with the Pediatric Oncology Experimental Therapeutics Investigators Consortium (POETIC) and will provide additional support for pediatric oncology research at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center with the determination that we will one day find a cure and end the suffering forever.
